Also of course, remember that the head of software¹ exists at the intersection of a diagnosably maniacal attention to detail and a vanishingly short attention span.
Leaving thorough-minded Apple users like Neven scratching their heads. Often multiple times a week.
So, this would ideally be fixed. And it would make room for a feature I’d really like to see in every weather widget, on the phone or TV or wherever:yesterday’s weather. The point would be to give me some indication of how much cooler/warmer I should expect to feel as compared to yesterday. See, I don’t really know how to judge absolute temperature values. Which coat do I grab at 55º? How about 43º? If, however, I knew that it would be 8º cooler than the previous day, I could act appropriately.
Ah. For that I rely on i.wund.com. It doesn’t give me yesterday’s temperature, but it does tell me if today will be Cooler or Warmer or nearly the same.²
If the temperature jump is more than 10°, it adds a modifier, i.e. “Much cooler” or “Much warmer”. I’ve tried other apps, but for this feature alone this web app has been my go-to weather check for more than three years.³ Check it out.
